A specialty for the Lyn Hovey Stained Glass Studio is residential commissioned work. The process begins with careful listening to the client and then producing a scale watercolor design for their approval. The second step is to provide a full size drawing again for the client’s approval. Creation of the project commences only after both approvals have been received. We provide complete in-house design and fabrication and installation service offering turnkey management for each project large or small.
Each project is designed around the specific needs of each home, its style and architecture, and those living within it. Personalizing touches in the actual design content and in the style and color range selected creates an ambiance and warmth to the architecture and the interior design of your home that reflects your personal comfort and expression. We work closely with each client to help them express themselves through these glass art projects. We offer mouth-blown European “Antique” glass, domestic “ Cathedral” glass, opalescent glass, beveled glass, acid etched glass, painted and fired glass, dichroic glass and the widest selection of jewels, faceted glass, rondels and other specialty glasses such as vintage glasses that we have collected in over 45 years in business.
Specialty projects include large picture windows, small accent windows such as piano windows, stairway windows, octagonal, hexagonal, circular, arched, oval and trapezoidal windows, Entryway and door windows and panels and windows over doors called transom windows. Specialty residential glass art projects also include walls of glass, bathroom door and wall and shower windows, skylights and all forms of artificial lighting and lampshade area lighting.
